MAFF is an annual film festival and is widely regarded as the most influential and largest Arabic film festival in Europe, and is even the only one in Scandinavia. The festival screen features, short films and documentaries from all over the world, and even arranges workshops, seminars, celebrations and gathering - as always with intimate encounters between audiences, critics, film makers and actors.
Malmo Arab Film Festival - MAFF is an unique festival in Europe, that was initiated through a common need in Malmo and Sweden - a grassroots striving for an Arabic cultural platform with the film as the binding element. The festival was from the very beginning an overwhelming successful concept. The idea of the festival was sprung out of this very ambition, a venue for diversity and for the Arabic cinema in Malmo, Sweden and Europe.
2015 MAFF will be held 2-6 of October in Malmo, Sweden.
The 5th annual festival will include competition sections in the categories feature films, documentaries and short films, including the new panoramas with North Films, Antiracism, Orient Films and Algeria in focus.
