Godwin Mawuru is said to have started his career in the early eighties working both on stage and on-screen in acting and directing. His first debut as a a film director is recognized with The Tree Is Mine (1987). However is internationally known for his film Neria (1993) and as the producer of first and longest running soap opera Studio 263 (2002-). Godwin Mawuru died on 24th May 2013 as a result of sepsis at 51.
