iThemba Productions Inc. was founded by filmmaker and producer Roger Ross Williams. Mr. Williams is a working television news, documentary and entertainment producer, director and writer living in New York City for the past twenty-five years. As a television news producer he has worked for ABC's Peter Jennings Reporting unit, NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, The Today Show, MSNBC, The Barbara Walters Specials for ABC News, Nightline and CNN. Mr. Williams has produced entertainment shows and segments for People Magazine Yearbook special on CBS, Entertainment Weekly's series on CNN, Time Magazine on CNN, Comedy Central, VH1, The Fine Living Channel and Michael Moore's Emmy Award winning series TV Nation. Mr. Williams' documentary work for television has appeared on The Discovery Times Channel and PBS.
He has won numerous awards including the National Headliner for Best Human Interest Feature for his documentary New York Underground. His latest film for HBO Documentary Films, Music by Prudence, was one of eight films shortlisted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for short subject documentary for the 2010 Oscars. He has won this Oscar.
