Extreme Afrique to launch debut DVD

Extreme Afrique, a rising gospel group led by leading producer Lyton Ngolomi, will launch a debut DVD album at Meikles Hotel on Friday.



The DVD, titled Tomuziva Nenyasha, comprises of six videos shot and directed by National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) award -winning music video producer Willard "Slimaz" Magombedze.



Bassist Brian Ngolomi, one of the founders of the group, said the launch was another proof of the progress Extreme Afrique continues to make in a very challenging environment.



"Fans should look forward to a powerful DVD and we are optimistic that it will go a long way in marketing the group name and God's word," Brian told the Daily News.



According to Brian the six videos on the DVD include Chisikwa, Nditenderei, Jesu Ndinouya featuring former chanter for Alick Macheso's Orchestra Mberikwazvo band Jonasi Kasamba, Ngarikudzwe, Ndiringe and Yebo Siyavhuma.



The Extreme Afrique songs come in diverse genres such as jiti, R'n'B, Kwaito and rhumba due to the group's desire to cater for different tastes.



Brian said the name Extreme Afrique reflects the group's desire to incorporate different gospel music style from several African countries.
