MADA is the third short film by Laurent Pantaléon. Taking up the myth of Lemuria, an immense continent of which the islands of the Indian Ocean are the remains, the director reveals the birth of the first man, in the province of Madagascar. This documentary is not about Atlantis. This documentary is not about dinosaurs. This documentary is not about the Lascaux cave or Neanderthal man or the Gauls. This documentary is about what we know, about the Indian Ocean, about oral memory, about the knowledge of our fathers. This documentary is a didactic film that allows us to disentangle the true from the false. This documentary is an eye-opener. This documentary is a lie detector. At the same time, this documentary highlights the notion of point of view. This notion is essential for telling a story, essential for storytelling: kriké! kraké! The idea is to look at the person who tells the story, why he tells it and what he gains from it. Film by Laurent Pantaléon selected for FESPACO 2021
