Innocent Rusununguko Utsiwegota was born in Murewa and grew up in Harare where his father Zvidzai ran a chain of businesses. He was the owner of established publishing house Mazongororo Paper Converters as well as Mazongororo Syringes. Most of the children in the Utsiwegota family were absorbed into the family business and at the death of their father in 2001, Innocent assumed the role of director of the group of companies that have now expanded to dealing in quarry stones with mine in Mt Darwin and Mutoko.

On the music side, Utsiwegota established Country Boy Records that hit popular albums like Decibel's What Kind of World, Makoikoi from Dino Mudondo and Unodzoka Here from MC Villa. The company was responsible for recording, marketing and distribution but it has since trimmed its roles to recording only.Utsiwegota traditionally works with the likes of Major E and Malvin S on his albums to give the songs a fine reggae touch while his young brother Simba is into gospel music.Utsiwegota says he does music for fun and attributes his long absence from music to demanding family and professional commitments.
