On October 27, 2005, two youngsters from Clichy-sous-Bois were fatally electrocuted in an EDF power plant. A third youth, who was badly burned, gave the alert. There were two versions of what happened: that of the young people who claim they were pursued by police on their way back from a soccer match, and the version of the authorities which, through the Interior Ministry, denied that there had been any pursuit. That very evening, the first cars were torched. The ensuing crisis lasted three weeks. Alex, a Belgian journalist, arrived in Clichy-sous-Bois to report on the tragedy. Assisted by the lawyers of the victims'families, he tried to reconstitute the chain of events and at the same time discovered, through his contacts, the extent of unrest in the suburbs.
