Terence is an artist who makes performances, installations, and music and writes and directs feature films and music videos.

TERENCE NANCE - is an artist born and raised in Dallas, Texas. His mother is an actress and director, his father is a photographer and musician. Terence began making art as a young child and early on developed an obsession with Stevie Wonder, specifically the song "They Won't Go When I Go"

Terence moved to Brooklyn, New York to study art. He makes installation, music, performance and film. His first feature film, An Oversimplification of Her Beauty, premiered in the New Frontier section of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. The album of the same title will be released later in the year.

Terence makes music under the name Terence Etc. His sound is classified as "Art - Funk." The music draws on familiar funk influences like Stevie Wonder, Stereolab, and Funkadelic as well as less obvious lovelyness like Andrew Lloyd Weber, Dilla, Leadbelly, the Kronos Quartet, Ira Gershwin, and Thelonius Monk.

Terence is currently bicoastal, residing in both Oakland, CA and Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn - along with the rest of The Swarm.
