"Regards d'Afrique" proposes a review of the African cinema, thanks to encounters with film-makers, actors, producers and distributors interviewed at Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), during FESPACO, in February 1997.
The film takes time to get attached to the people and what they say, punctuated with excerpts from films. They tell us of their worries, their difficulties as well as the hopes that they place in the emergence of an adult cinema, financially and esthetically detached from Western guardianship.
